GCTTA Open Championship

On behalf of the GCTTA I wish to thank all the players that attended the recently held GCTTA Open Championship in Rivonia. It was especially pleasing to note the number of entries from outside of the Province of Gauteng, most notably, Mpumalnga, KZN and our neighbours Ekurhuleni. The tournament would not have been the success without your participation.

A special word of thanks to our host Glynis and the Rivonia team for their huge efforts and being such grand hosts. To the executive members of the GCTTA, Moegamad, Fazal, Abdul and Roddy, thank you for your continuous contribution towards growing the game in our association. Your role in ensuring the success of the championship is often understated and the Association remain indebted to you for the voluntary service.

Finally I wish to thank the untitled volunteers such as Saadia, Dante and other for their support in all our ventures.

We will now set our dates for next years Open and ensure that the prospectus is distributed well in advance. A concerted effort must be made to secure sponsors for the event. I am not happy with the idea of giving prize money to Juniors and would like comment on this position. We need to secure worthwhile prizes for the juniors with certificates and medals.
